Experiential accommodation
Experience the villa differently than just as a visitor. Wake up in an iconic space that slows time, cultivates the mind, and offers peace of mind not normally found in the city.
You can view the exhibitions as part of guided tours of Volman Villa, which allow you to discover the house in the broader context of its exceptional architecture, history, and restoration.
The paintings of Kateřina Ondrušková invite us to observe a world that seems intimately familiar, yet retains something elusive. In the series presented in the exhibition Observing Joy, we encounter figures set within natural surroundings. Their faces are often turned away, concealed behind leaves, flowers, hair, or the wings of fluttering moths.
About the exhibitionThe exhibition program of Volman Villa is created in collaboration with Trafo Gallery, one of Prague's prominent contemporary art galleries. The curatorial selection presents contemporary artists and projects that engage in a dialogue with the functionalist villa's architecture and its historical context.
The collaboration between Volman Villa and Trafo Gallery creates a platform where contemporary art, architecture, and cultural heritage converge.
The strong presence of women in Volman Villa – their energy, touches, traces, emotions, tenderness, and intimacy – will intertwine with Alžběta Jungrová's unique photographic project.
"The 1920s and 30s are my weakness. Modernism has gotten under my skin. In a way, its aesthetic still follows me, and it regularly creeps back into my work through unexpected cracks, even though the goals are logically long since different."
